The concern for an expected baby can be a powerful motivating factor to help develop preconception wellness. Improving parents’ health prior to considering conception promotes healthy results for both parents and baby, from birth to adulthood. Boost nutritional status with and encourage the elimination of toxins from the body, with physician guidance, beginning at least 6-12 months prior to conception to promote healthier beginnings.
Lifestyle choices that expose expectant mothers and fathers to chemicals, stress and poor nutrition may negatively affect their ability to become pregnant and/or prenatal outcomes. Pre-Conception and Conception wellness aims to help the expectant mother feel her best. Treatments include guidance and support for a healthy diet, one that specifically nurtures pregnancy and a developing baby. We will work together to selecting appropriate nutritional supplements needed to ensure a wholesome pregnancy and a healthy baby.
Avoid Harmful Chemicals: Most of us would agree that chemicals are unhealthy, but there have been links even between many food additives and pregnancy risks.
Healthy Eating: What a woman eats is the fuel her body uses to help a fetus develop, make sure that only the healthiest and most nutritious foods are being consumed.
Exercise and Yoga: It’s been shown that women who are not physically active prior to conceiving are unlikely to develop an exercise program after conceiving. Start walking 30 minutes each day, five days a week to start. Yoga is also highly recommended.
Dr. Mainier will work with both parents to continue to look at ways to achieve what is best for your health and wellness related to prenatal care.
